Privacy policy

Gizmo Garage for Android, iPhone, iPad and Steam, and this website · Effective 29 October 2026

The short version

  • No account and no sign-in
  • No ads, analytics or trackers
  • Your progress stays on your device
  • Purchases go through your app store: we never see your payment details
  • Nothing to sell or share: we don't collect it

Who we are

Gizmo Garage is a single-player puzzle game made by Gizmo Garage Studio ("we", "us"). If you have a question about this policy, email contact@gizmo-garage.com.

What the game keeps on your device

To remember where you are, the game saves a few things in its own storage on your device:

  • which levels you've solved or skipped, your stars and your Expert marks
  • your settings, such as sound and difficulty
  • contraptions you build and save in the sandbox
  • your hint tokens and how you used them, and whether levels 51–200 are unlocked, kept in a sealed form so they can't be changed by hand
  • for the HD look, which graphics engine and quality run smoothly on your device, and the version of its built-in web engine, so HD starts at the right settings next time

This never leaves your device, and we can't see it. Uninstalling the game, or clearing its data, deletes it.

Purchases

Levels 51–200 and hint tokens are sold through Google Play (and through the App Store in the iPhone and iPad version). The store takes your payment under its own privacy policy and tells the game what you bought: the product and an order number. The game checks the store's signature on that and keeps the record on your device. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details, and the game sends nothing to us.

  • Levels 51–200 stay with your store account: they come back if you reinstall the game or play on another device signed in to the same account.
  • Hint tokens are kept only on the device you have them on. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data deletes them, and they don't move to another device.

The Steam version includes every level and sells nothing.

What we never collect

The game doesn't ask for your name, email, location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or files. It contains no advertising, analytics or tracking code, and it needs no internet connection to play; buying something needs one, to reach your app store.

The app stores

You download Gizmo Garage from Google Play, the App Store or Steam. Each store handles your account and any payment under its own privacy policy. Stores give every developer anonymous, combined statistics, such as install counts and crash rates; we can't identify you from them.

This website

gizmo-garage.com uses no cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking, and loads nothing from other companies. We run the site on our own server, which keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for up to 30 days to keep the site working and secure. Nobody else sees them.

If you pick SD or HD at the top of a page, your browser keeps that choice in its own storage on your device, so every page shows the same look. It's the same setting the Sandbox page uses, and it's never sent to us.

The Sandbox page plays the game's sandbox in your browser. Like the game, it keeps your settings, what runs smoothly in HD and the contraptions you save in your browser's own storage on your device. They're never sent to us, and clearing your browser's data for this site deletes them. It sells nothing.

Email to contact@gizmo-garage.com arrives on our own mail server. We use it only to reply, and delete it when it's no longer needed.

Children

Gizmo Garage is made for players aged 13 and over. Because the game and this website collect no personal information from anyone, they collect none from children under 13 (or under 16 where that age applies). Purchases are made through the app store, whose parental controls, such as asking a parent to approve a purchase, apply to them.

Your rights

Wherever you live, including the EU, the UK and California, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you and to have it deleted. Apart from any emails you've sent us, we hold none. To ask about those, email us. Your purchase history is held by your app store, which you can ask directly.

Changes

If the game changes in a way that affects your privacy, we'll update this page before that version is released and change the date at the top.
