Crank Gear

How it works

• It is a gear with a long arm that sweeps round as the gear turns.
• The arm knocks balls, dominoes and levers, but it passes through other gears.
• If nothing drives it, an unpowered crank just swings down like a pendulum.
• Gears between a crank and the motor change its reach, not how fast it turns.

Tips

• The arm sweeps a big circle. Keep that whole circle clear unless you want it to hit something.
• To stop a crank, block its arm with a part.
