Chapter 11, Fuse and Fire
Fuse
A cord that burns along at about a metre a second once lit, lighting whatever it reaches.
How it works
- It is a powder cord. Fire lights it, and the burn runs both ways from the lit point.
- A longer fuse is a longer delay.
- The burning point lights what it reaches: other fuses, rockets, kegs and candles. It burns ropes and pops balloons.
- A burnt stretch cannot burn again. Fuses that touch or cross light each other.
- A fuse touches nothing else, so it can run through walls and other parts. On a rocket, its end goes on the nozzle or on the igniter on either side.
Tips
- Lay fuses a little apart unless you want them to join.
- In build mode, a selected fuse shows how long it takes to burn.
