Steam Whistle

How it works

• It fits on the end of a pipe and takes the steam that reaches it, as an open end would.
• A strong rush of steam, such as a burst from a valve, makes it blow. A gentle flow only hisses.
• A coloured whistle switches its colour's power on while it blows, like a light sensor, so it can open a valve or start a fan.
• Some goals ask for the whistle to blow.

Tips

• A long pipe or a tee's half share can leave too little steam to blow it.
• Listen: a hiss means steam is reaching it, just not enough to blow.

Where you'll meet it

You first meet it in level 204, Hold That Note, in the bonus chapter, Full Steam Ahead, which opens once all 200 levels are solved. Its steam parts join the sandbox then too.
