Chapter 14, Smart Circuits
Weighing Scale
Switches its power on while enough weight rests on its pan.
How it works
- It switches its colour's power on while enough weight rests on its pan.
- Everything on the pan adds up: a stack of crates, a bucket and its water, even the end of a seesaw.
- A load has to stay a moment before the scale reacts, so quick impacts and passing things do not count.
- Light balls, a crate or a domino are not enough on their own, but a steel ball or a bowling ball is.
Tips
- Stack light things. Their weights add up.
- A full bucket is just under the usual scale's weight, so a bucket under a tank switches only a scale set lighter than usual.
Where you'll meet it
